By creating a Dockett account, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written in plain English.
1. About Dockett
Dockett is a mobile application that helps Australian tradies manage jobs, create quotes and invoices, and get paid. The service is provided by Dockett ("we", "us", "our").
By registering for an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Dockett.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old and operating a legitimate trade business to use Dockett.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Ensuring the business information you enter (ABN, business name, bank details) is accurate
- The accuracy of all quotes, invoices, and documents you generate and send to your clients
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@dockett.xyz.
3. Subscription and payments
Dockett offers a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. After the trial period, a paid subscription is required to continue using the app.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Settings screen in the app or via the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not offer partial-month refunds.
Pricing: We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase via email before it takes effect.
Payment processing: All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
4. What Dockett does and doesn't do
Dockett provides tools to help you create and send documents. It is your responsibility to:
- Verify that all quotes and invoices are accurate before sending to clients
- Comply with all applicable Australian tax laws (GST, income tax) and trade licensing requirements
- Obtain appropriate insurance for your trade business
- Review AI-generated content (line item suggestions, SMS drafts) before using it
Dockett is a productivity tool, not a licensed accounting, legal, or financial advisory service. Nothing in the app constitutes professional advice.
5. AI features
Dockett uses AI (Claude by Anthropic) to power features like voice-to-invoice transcription and line item suggestions. AI-generated content may contain errors. You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated output before sending it to clients or using it in your business.
6. Your content
You retain full ownership of all data and content you create in Dockett — your jobs, clients, quotes, invoices, and business details are yours.
By using Dockett, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your business data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Dockett to:
- Create fraudulent invoices or quotes
- Impersonate another person or business
- Violate any applicable Australian law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data
- Transmit spam, malware, or other harmful content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's source code
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice or refund.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Dockett available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, fix bugs, or update features at any time.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any feature of the service at any time. For significant changes, we will provide reasonable notice where possible.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Dockett is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Any loss of business, revenue, or data arising from your use of the app
- Errors in AI-generated content that you choose to send to clients
- Service interruptions or data loss caused by factors outside our reasonable control
- Decisions you make based on information displayed in the app
Our total liability to you in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Upon deletion, your data is marked for removal and permanently deleted within 30 days. Subscription charges already paid are non-refundable.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Dockett after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
